Situated in north-central Creek County, the incorporated community of Lawrence Creek lies two miles west of State Highway 48 on County Roads E0640/N3700 and eighteen miles due northwest of the county seat, Sapulpa. Residents voted to incorporate on March 15, 1983. Near Keystone Lake, Lawrence Creek had a population of 97 in 1990 and 119 in 2000. At the turn of the twenty-first century the community served as a "bedroom" community, as 100 percent of its employed citizens commuted to work in Sapulpa and Tulsa. Lawrence Creek had a fire department, and the Oklahoma Lake Patrol offered police service.
