FROM THE EDITOR . . .
There is one important change to announce with this issue of the Proceedings of the Oklahoma Academy of Science. The journal will be changing the format of reference citation. We have been using the citation-sequence system where references are cited by number in the text and listed by number at the end of the article. The system we will be adopting is the name-year system where references in the text are cited by author last name and year and in the references section are listed in alphabetical order. This has been referred to as "the Harvard system." Support for this change has been unanimous from the feedback that I have received. The OAS Executive Council also approved the change. A few examples of format are given in the Brief Instructions to Authors at the end of this issue.
