The picture of Chief Samuel H. Mayes of the Cherokees appears in this current issue of the Chronicles for the express purpose of correcting an error appearing opposite page 64 of our March number whereon erroneously appears a picture of Chief C. J. Harris but mislabeled as that of S. H. Mayes. The
picture of Samuel H. Mayes herein reproduced is the likeness which should have appeared opposite page 64 of our March issue.
The error is deeply regretted.
Readers of the Chronicles who preserve the quarterly issues by binding or otherwise will carefully make a proper substitution before a permanent filing.
