Annual Meeting of the Oklahoma Historical Society
January 25, 1928
The annual meeting of the Oklahoma Historical Society convened at 1:30 p. m., Wednesday, January 25, 1928, in the Capitol,
with Charles F. Colcord, President (presiding).
The Secretary read the minutes of the last annual meeting.
William Meyer moved that the minutes be approved as read. Motion seconded and carried.
The Secretary read the following certificate as to election of directors for the ensuing five year term:
To the President and Members of the Oklahoma Historical Society; in session this, the 25th day of January, 1928; In accord
with the amended constitution of the Oklahoma Historical Society, section two, of article three, providing for the election
of five directors at the annual meeting of said Society, to fill vacancy of those whose term of office expires at the annual
meeting, the last clause of which reads as follows:
“Provided further that in instance where only five names are hereunder placed on such ballot same shall not be mailed out
but such fact certified jointly by the secretary and treasurer to the next annual meeting, and said five members by such meeting
declared elected.”
Pursuant to the above amendment we hereby certify the names of Col. R. A. Sneed, Judge Thomas H. Doyle, Col. A. N. Leecraft,
Mrs. J. R. Frazier, and Mrs. W. A. Roblin, the said five names of members to be declared elected at this time. By virtue of
the amended constitution they succeed themselves.

This 25th day of January, 1928.
Judge Williams moved that the five persons named be declared elected as directors of the Oklahoma Historical Society, for
a term of five years, according to the constitution. Motion was
seconded and carried.

Judge Doyle moved that the applicants be received as members. Motion was seconded and carried.

Meeting of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Historical Society convened in regular session following the adjournment of the annual
meeting, January 25, 1928, with the following members of the Board present: Charles F. Colcord, President (presiding), Dr.
J. S. Buchanan, Grant Foreman, Mrs. Frank Lucas, Mrs. John R. Williams, W. A. Durant, William P. Thompson, Thomas A. Edwards,
Mrs. Emma Estill-Harbour, Mrs. Jessie R. Moore, Robert L. Williams, Charles F. Barrett,

Mrs. Frank Korn, W. A. Ledbetter, Governor Henry S. Johnston, Thomas H. Doyle and Mrs. W. A. Roblin.
The Secretary read the minutes of the last annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
Judge Thompson moved that the minutes be approved as read. Motion was seconded and carried.
The election of officers was then taken up.
Judge Doyle moved that Charles F. Colcord be re-elected as president. Motion was seconded and Mr. Colcord was unanimously
elected as his own successor.
Mrs. Harbour moved that Judge Doyle be elected to succeed himself as senior vice-president. Motion was seconded and carried.
Judge Williams moved that Phil D. Brewer be elected to succeed himself as junior vice-president. Motion was seconded and carried.
Judge Williams moved that J. Y. Bryce be re-elected as Secretary. Motion was seconded and carried.
Judge Williams moved that Mrs. Jessie R. Moore be re-elected as Treasurer. Motion was seconded and carried.
W. A. Durant, member of the committee on research work among the Choctaws and Chickasaws, read the report of Peter J. Hudson,
Sr.
Judge Williams moved that Peter J. Hudson, Sr., and Miss Alice M. Robertson be continued in their work under the same conditions
and terms and for the same purposes as provided under
the original resolution heretofore adopted. Motion was seconded and carried.
Mrs. Moore moved that the present employees be continued in their work under the same conditions and the same compensation
as heretofore provided. Motion was seconded and carried.
